Deep Space Network

The Deep Space Network, or DSN, is an international network of large antennas and communication facilities that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, and radio and radar astronomy observations for the exploration of the solar system and the universe. DSN is part of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).*1

There is community of dedicated amateurs around the world that build such stations to listen in on spacecraft at the farthest reaches of our Solar System. (Amateur DSN) *3
